Caftan / Natural Ramie Tuluma Dress

Entirely inspired by my trip to Mexico, particularly Tulum and Holbox, the Tuluma style offers a dual function: a kaftan or a dress depending on your preference, thanks to the three small buttons that can be fastened up to mid-thigh. Its natural ramie fabric is extremely comfortable to wear. With a wide neckline and small drop sleeves, it can also be worn off one shoulder. The tapered effect at the front and back adds transparency and lightness to the piece.

The model is 1.72 m tall and wears a one-size garment.

Our items are handmade in our workshops in Bali.

Ramie:

Ramie is a natural fabric. It has a cellulose fiber obtained through a complex extraction process, making it an expensive and high-end fabric. Its fibers are obtained from the Boehmeria Nivea and Utilis plants: white ramie is obtained from the former, while green ramie is obtained from the latter. Ramie's plant fiber is completely natural, just like linen or bamboo. Its fibers are used to make lightweight and durable clothing.

Ramie fabric is highly breathable, provides quick heat transfer, and has a high moisture-absorption capacity, so wearing ramie fabrics in summer guarantees a cool sensation.

Care:

Hand washing is the best and safest method for caring for ramie. Use cold water and your usual detergent. Immerse the item and gently agitate the water with your hands to distribute the soap evenly. Let soak for up to 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly by letting cold water run through the item until the water is no longer soapy. Do not wring/twist the fabric. Instead, gently press to remove excess water. Dry flat in the air. We recommend steaming or ironing at a very low temperature.
